actually, it was the Packers known as America's Team in the 60's. the cowboys took it and self proclaimed themselves that in the late 70's, which it was their announcer who pulled that. yes, you can think what you want, but facts is the only thing that matters to me. you need to get your facts straight. do a little more research. the whole NFL films has really begun calling dallas that in the 90's, way after the whole thing started. here are some facts for you: yes, the cowboys sell the most merchandise. the packers have the largest fan base, as in most sports bars, etc. steelers are definately up there too. so really, you have to define America's Team. the team that most people in america like? maybe, but not necessarily. people buy cowboys jerseys because they like their colors, does that mean they are a fan? no. the truth is, on that particular case, no one is America's Team. not even the Packers. here's another perspective though, if you want to look at all the media hype, greed, and huge rich icons like Jerry Jones, then yes, the Cowboys are the definition of America's Team, while the Packers stand for the "little people," as in, the smallest market in the NFL, and owned by the people, not one single greedy owner. as far as espn commentators? what, emmitt smith and micheal irvin, come on dude. get real. movies? books? when? why didn't i see it? next issue....what respect haven't the cowboys received? cowboys have been predicted to win every week except against the Patriots. how's that not respect? the Packers for example have been predicted to lose 3/4 of their games thus far, and they're 8-1. where's their respect? bottom line, you can say what you want about you thinking you're America's Team. that's fine with me, it don't bother me. however, do your hw before rambling on a bunch of garbage. by the way, how old are you?

I'll give them respect when they prove they know how not to choke in the playoffs. And the NFC is pretty pathetic this year, so being tied for the best record is like being the prettiest fat girl at the prom. You'll still be watching somebody else dance at the end. Besides, the Packers are the best team in the NFC.
As for being America's team, watch the Steelers on the road. Their fans are everywhere and are most times louder than the home crowd.

Cowboy's will make the Superbowl this year...to play my home team...Patriots...and it will just be a repeat...to be honest I hope Detriot takes it so it will be something to watch...I have all the respect in the world for the direction the Cowboys are going but, you can't stop the Pat's offense...Cowboy's are my 2nd fav team becuz I used to like the squad of Aikman, Smith, Irving, and Sanders but it's over so everyone can put their popcorn away!

I've been rooting for the Cowboys for 40 years. The "America's Team" stuff has been going on since Tom Landry was the coach, LONG before ESPN even existed. So give those announcers the finger, because they are a bunch of LIARS.

Guys watch football. They like to see sexy girls as well as football. The Dull-a22 Cowgirl cheerleaders were the first and best know group of cheerleaders in America. Why else would anyone watch the Cowboys when you have Packers, Colts and Patriots ? If you have a good team on the field, you don't need cheerleaders on the sidelines to keep people watching.

Dallas is one of the biggest bandwagon teams I've ever seen. It's pretty pathetic to see. That doesn't even include all the cocky people from Texas who think everythings better in Texas.

Hate?
What hate?
I got a life son, I ain't got time to hate a freakin' football team even if it is the Cowboys.
And on a side note, the Super Bowl hasn't been played yet.

I guess when they play the packers and win I'll reconize them as america's team, but they have got to beat the Pack and I don't believe they have enough ammunition to do that
