Because if they DID, they would have to call into question EVERYTHING they believe in, not only her but their own politics. They are blinded by the Hilly-Billy sunshine. If they admit that Hilly is wrong about ANYTHING, that would then lend credibility to the "opposition." That would mean that the dreaded Republicans may just be RIGHT (not just right-wing), and by jove, that just cannot be. They HAVE to stick to their pseudo-politics or else become a traitor and join the Republicans. Which do YOU think sits better in their kool-aid tainted mouths?
Have a right-wing day.

I think your question is outdated; at this point in time, many supporters do seem to know a lot about Hillary, and much has been written and read. She's been campaigning openly for about a year, and she's been making her major positions known. In addition, she has an eight year voting record as a senator, and her stances, which are similar to those of the blue dog conservative Democrats, are well known.
For example, I am not a Hillary supporter in any way, yet I know these things about her.
She's said she will keep at least 75,000 troops in Iraq indefinitely, and she voted for a bill which the president will interpret as a war resolution against Iran. Most people want guaranteed health care, and Hillary's plan is a partnership between the private and the public. In other words, insurance companies and doctors would still make good money and everyone would be covered. I can't think of anything more that a conservative leaning independent could want in a candidate, and she is definitely appealing to that group..
I agree, Hillary needs to be pinned down to a more definite stand on some issues, but that will happen over the next couple of months. She is not the only one who is partially a mystery. The journalists have been especially bad about asking hard follow up questions, so we do not know a lot about most of the candidates.
As to your quote, it sounds like something Hillary might have said on a Jay Leno show about 10 years ago. I think it's true that many people do not read books, and the rest could be a joke. It has nothing to do with the concert at Woodstock NY in 1969.
Gary B: as a junior senator under Schumer, Hillary wouldn't have the opportunity to put her name on many bills. But I can't accept your unsupported assertion that she has never sponsored an important bill, and I'm sure that a quick check of her senate or campaign website would show that she has in fact, sponsored some significant legislation.

I mean the problem with Hilary she doesn't know what she wants, she keeps remaining neutral to most of the main issues that America is currently facing just so she can have more supporters but how do we know what her plans for the future are ? if she can't make up her mind on what she really supports, she can't possibly be on both sides of the matter, she just doesn't have strong oppinions and when she is in a debate, I don't know if anyone's seen her, she seems lost and confused, do we really want someone weak (not because she's a woman) like this to rule our nation? I think not..

I think most people over 30 know more about Hillary than any other candidate in the race, and possibly more than any candidate for president ever, since her public and private life has been on TV since 1992.
