Do you have an area that you're especially good in? Perhaps you know a lot about music, television, science, or some other subject. Shop around for questions that look interesting.
I reached Level 2 very quickly mainly because I noticed that most people don't do much more than give a brief response, even just "yes" or "no". What I did instead was spend a bit of time there, writing a paragraph or two, usually more, about the question. That's why I'm careful to choose questions that interest me enough to want to write about them. Often, that bit of extra time can net you 10 points for Best Answer.
It's difficult to make your answer stand out if you use the least amount of detail. For example, I've arrived at a question that I know the answer to; perhaps one or two people have simply left the name of the film, perhaps the title and a link. Well, I add my answer, but I look up the year the film was released, just in case there might be one or more films with that title. I go to IMDB to copy a brief summary, pasting it in the post, along with the link. Often, I mention the actors who appear in the film. If I especially like the film or found something interesting about it, I write that, too.
Answering this way might take some time, but it also might make your answer stand out.
So, look around, beyond P&S, for questions that "speak" to you. You might see that someone has answered, but do you know more about it? Also, you can correct misconceptions or other errors, backing it up with some research.
You can get to that second level faster than you think. It's a pleasant surprise!

The levels are sorted by a system of points. There is a chart somewhere on this site that explains it in detail. Basically, for everytime you do something (except for ask a question) you will be given a number of points accordingly to what you have done. When you reach a number of points, you will advance a level. Level 2 in specific is 250 points. There is also a chart here that shows how many points are needed for each level, and the benefits of advancing. (answering more questions a day, voting, asking more, blah blah)

Answer questions well, hoping that they become best answers and you get 10 points. Every question that you answer gives you +2 points. You just have to answer 22 more questions to get to level 2. Oh, and try NOT to ask questions. That's -5 points. A best answer is +10 points. If you asked a question and you pick a best answer, then you get +3 points. Hope I helped! =)

Daily log into ur a/c at answers. And, avoid asking unnecessary questions u don't really need!(like this question). And one more thing u have to do daily, answer as more questions as u can in a genuine way. Don' be tricky. In that way, u can earn best answers points also. U need points to reach level 2. By asking u lose some points( already u may know it, with this experience). Best of Luck! :)

You just need to answer all the questions it will allow and then come back the next day and answer all that it will allow you to again to build up the points. Try to get best answers so you can get 10 points. When you finally get to a level that allows you to vote for best answer vote for as many answers as it will allow you to.

You have to reach 250 points. For every question you answer, you get 2 points, and for every Best Answer you give, you get 10 points. And when you reach 1000 welcome to level 3.

Just answer a LOT of questions....stick to categories ya know, because, that way, if ya get a best answer for a certain question, ya get 10 points added as well.
You get points for visiting every day (1 point per day)....and, it's actually best if ya limit asking questions, as they knock off 5 points per question asked.
