Yes...!!! Altough Core 2 Duo's clockspeed is 2,2GHz. But, it's faster than a Pentium 4 3,0GHz. Because Core 2 Duo has 2 cores, P4 has 1 core.

The clock speed (GHZ) is not a factor of speed. An Intel Pentium 4 (3.2Ghz) runs SLOWER than Intel Core 2 Duo (2.2Ghz).

You never look at the clockspeed for speed.
