i ordered a package recently and it was stolen by a 7 year old boy down the street. I saw him with my package, but did not take any action at the moment because i did not want to accuse him wrongly. but that same day i checked my tracking number and it said delivered. and it wasnt in my mailbox or on my porch. so do i have enough evidence? i also found the empty package at the dumpster. hes a little troublemaker

Go and talk to his parents about it. Tampering with mail is a federal offense, and besides that it is theft. Tell the parents that you saw the kid take the box, the package was left at his house, and you saw the item that you purchased taken out of the box by him.
Tell the parents that you did not feel that it was your place to confront their child, rather you would rather discuss it with adults. Tell them that you do not want to cause a problem, but you would like to be reimbursed for the loss. Also point out that they need to know what their child is doing so that he does not continue this behavior and get himself or them into deeper trouble.
If they deny it, ask, "Why would I make up a story like this, when I have nothing to gain from this? I dread confrontation."
Tell the parents, and resolve this issue. And find out who signed for it. You can talk to the parents first and tell them that you are waiting on this. They may not even need it to take action against their child. Tell them that all you want is your property and perhaps an apology.

Of course, turn it in to the delivery company and to the vendor. Also make a report to the police, but if you value the neighbors or it might make trouble, do this after talking with the delivery company. You DIDN'T get the package, so it is owed to you. Let the others handle it first. I have had this happen twice, and the delivery company and vendor tracked it down, and reimbursed me since I had not signed for the package. Good luck. And get a post office box for mail, or a strong locked mail box at your home.

yes but take pictures call the postal police to report your mailbox being broken ,and if he's a minor confront the boys parents to have them pay for your item, if they're not willing then see then in court.

Report this to your local PD. It may teach him a lesson he needs to learn before he gets older. They can tell you if that is enough evidence.

You can try to settle this matter with his parents...
Or just call the Police. If you have a friend who is a lawyer, you can get great free* advice.
(better give him/her a "gift" for his/her free service)
