What should I say to the adjuster? The other driver now claims that he never hit my car and that the damage on my car was "already there." My car sustained $575 damage. His sustained none. Should I tell the adjuster that I am prepared to take the other driver to small claims court?

you don't say anything the adjuster is just there to view the damage your insurance company should be handling the dispute

the fact that their even sending an adjuster gives the hint that they may be considering paying up already. The adjuster will just get an idea of what it will cost to fix your car that's all.
if they need any info they will ask

SAY ABSOLUTLY NOTHING! They are there to figure out how to pay the least amount possible. So the slightest offhand comment could be used against you later. If asked anything just say that you have already provided your company all of the pertinent details. You need to be careful here especially if the person is now denying it.

In the paying less department they need to paint your entire car!. There could be unseen damage. Where did you get $575 from? Plus what about the cost of a rental why yours is in the shop? Many, many things.

The sueing part is implied so no mention need be made. Again if you did you may accidentally say the wrong thing.

You did call your insurance company right?

Never offer any information. Answer the questions with true and accurate answers but don't run off at the mouth. Answer the question only as it is asked, do not elaborate.
