It's sunday night at 11:00 PST, I'd like to drop a player on my team and pick up a free agent to start next week. Both players played their games today, so they're both done for the week. When I try to pickup the player yahoo tells me "A player has already played and is no longer editable for today. (Error #174)". I'm not exactly sure what yahoo is trying to stop me from doing. At what time does Yahoo realize all games are done for Sunday, and I'm trying to make a move for next week?

I get this error regularly; it is quite annoying.
Yahoo keeps players in your starting lineup locked until 2:00 CST (midnight PST). Thus, you should be able to drop your starter for any free agent in 35 minutes.

am i able to pick up a player for sunday and start him even if a game has been played on thursday? The reason why is because i have a player that is questionable for sunday and he did not practice wednesday and i don't have a backup to replace him. they haven't said that he's not playing sundays game but just incase i want to have a backup if he doesn't.

I am starting to get frustrated with Yahoo Fantasy Football. It says I have successfully dropped a player but will not allow me to add a player? I have tried several players and it has nothing to do with waivers. My suggestion is to always go with ESPN or NFL.com Fantasty.

is your player that you're going to drop started for your team this week? because if he does, you are not permitted to drop that player until all Sunday games are over...only your bench players for that week are permitted to drop as per Yahoo fantasy football rule...
"You are allowed to make transactions involving your bench players at any time during a week—even if a player's game has begun. However, you are not permitted to activate any player who is already within the five-minute limit. All such players must remain on your bench until the following week."

it let me add a player but i'm sure it was because their isnt until tonite. i would say tomorrow morning after the game is played. because i tried someone after the games were over on Sunday..but no dice.

This happens to me too. I think all of the games have to be played (even Monday Night's). So I think you can't do anything with it till Tuesday morning.
