With asians, it's ingrained in their fascination with the West, just like how we consider the East to be mystical and other worldly. I don't know the story with Native Americans, I've never met one that wanted to be white.

I don't think they do. Immigrant groups either assimilate or they don't. The ones that do assimilate tend to have less difficulty assimilating into contexts and areas that you seem to perceive as being exclusively white. Asian Indians want what every other group wants, good schools, good jobs. Certainly not a "complex".

You're not trying to make generalizations but you do anyways. That makes a lot of sense. What does acting white suppose to mean anyways? As far as I can tell, white people are not any different then anybody else. There is this assumption made by ignorant people that if you want to go to college, make money, dress in nice clothes, and speak proper english it somehow means that you want to be white, but that is a bunch of bullsh!t.

By "Indians", are you referring to people from the country of India or "American Indians" - also known as "Native Americans"?
I am 1/2 Seneca and I know of no other Native Americans that want to be "white" as you say. Just be who you are and forget about wanting to be something you are not. Skin color shouldn't matter.

I am a person of Indian descent living in the United States.
However, I speak English impeccably well, I listen to music from Beethoven to Led Zeppelin, I eat pasta and drink Coke, and a large number of my friends and coworkers are caucasian.
Some people think I'm trying to be white, but the truth that I'm just being an American.

Im lightskinned so i will answer this question. back in slavery time, the lightskinned slaves could be taken care of greater acceptable than the dark skinned slaves so the lightskinned slaves form of theory that they have got been slightly greater acceptable. additionally, in case you spotted, a lightskinned guy or woman can get a job or gain existence swifter than a darkskinned african american. It sucks that the black american is sperated by utilising itself race, yet thats the way it rather is.

Um where have you been? Do you see all those Black women with relaxed hair, and fake hair and fake eyes? Don't you see how in music videos they pick the light skinned models? I can't agree with you with what you say IS true. Maybe where you live, but on TV and in many other communities, you see black women with weaves, and relaxed hair, and fake eyes, and people preferring the light skinned people over the darker, if that isn't having a white complex!
Also, Indians are considered Caucasian, so how could they be trying so hard?

I have no clue but I have noticed this at all. I know I do not myself because I was taught to be proud of my culture and history and have continued this. There is no reason to change any blessing that the lord has given me
