Niagara Falls is located in both New York State and Ontario, Canada. Most folks enjoy seeing the falls from the Canadian side however because there are less rocks at the bottom so as to make it look like a longer fall (which it is). If you should go, don't miss going on the maid of the mist. You can really see the falls from a different perspective from the boat. Hope this helps.

The border between Canada and New York runs down the middle of the falls. So the falls are in both Canada and New York.

There are two cities that are incorprated under the name "Niagara Falls".
One is in the US (New York State); one is in Canada (Province of Ontario).
The actual series of falls (there are three of them, all located on the Niagara River) are NOT named "Niagara Falls" at all. They are called:
- - American Falls (in NY state)
- - Bridal Veil Falls (in NY state)
- - Horseshoe Falls (in Ontario)
Most advertising photographs that depict the falls are actually taken from the Canadian side, and are of the Horseshoe Falls, with the Bridal Veil Falls on the left side in the background.

both, Canada and New York. The Horse shoe falls are located in Canada, then the other part of the water falls are located in NY.
