Re question one: global warming and climate change are proven facts. it's not a matter of "belief" or "disbelief," it's a matter of knowledge versus ignorance.

As far as the second--I don't particularly "like" either party. In the past--before the neocons hijacked the GOP--I voted for Republicans almost as often as Democrats, though I suppose I'm more or less a liberal. At the moment, I'd have to say the Democrats for the simple reason that, albhough they are hardly siaints, the Democrats aren't displaying the rampant corruption, dishonesty, and downright perverted behavior of the right-wing extremists who have all but destroyed the GOP.

We must use common sense.

The world has been changing since time began.

I'm glad the dinosaurs became extinct and we don't have to hide from them.

In the 1970's my kids were scared to death that we were going to have an ice age.

True we have too many people and many of them are not frugal and don't worry about recycling.

I'm 72 and have watched carefully all the crap that politicians are concerned for their own agenda.

Greed!!!!

The following is 1 example of many.

In my time we/my generation began cleaning up our rivers and stream and now we have our fresh water fish again.

It use to be that if people lived by a river, they built their out house on the bank and the river flushed their out house.

We began putting in sewer lines, with indoor plumbing, but the sewage still was run into the rivers.

Then came the time we began building sewage treatment plants and now the sewage no longer is a problem.

Example # 2

The coal/fossil fuel fired power plants now have scrubbers on them and have very little pollution, but you will never hear that they are much cleaner now.

Some have plans to get rid of fossil fuel and I believe they have an agenda. Greed!

Why won't the envirmentalists let us drill for our own oil.

We have more oil than most other countries.

We need to worry more about the farmers in our country.

They have slowly, somehow worked it so that there are less food growers in our US of A.

What is wrong with us the we consider the farmer to be "The dumb farmer"

I could go on and on.

The things my generation has seen are never taught in school anymore.

Values have gone to hell.

You ask about the two parties.

Most are lawyers/liars.

They are politicans who are looking for a career with the government.

They retire with big bucks.

The president cannot make it his career.

I think we should require the same of all politicians.

I think then they would worry about the people and the world they would return to and get something done during their short term and then return to their regular life.

Thanks for the question. You really got me started, thinking about the greed and power play thats going on with campaign issues, this time around.

no. weather has always been unpredictable. It still is. The idea that scientists know what the wheather is going to be next week let alone in 10-100 years is absurd.

Thats not mentioning the fact that the earth has a history of warming and cooling. There was a time period called the Ice Age. Greenland was once green.

You will notice that the ones pushing global warming ate the politicians. thats because its the perfect issue. it doesnt matter what the weather does. You can blame global warming and pretend science backs it up and youve got the ultimate scare issues. "Do you really want to destroy the world for your children?" Rather than actually debate issues all they have to do is scare opponents to silence with name calling. And it doesnt matter what you do, raise taxes, create stricter laws. people will buy it because you are making an emotional argument.

The only flaw to that plan is there are some people who are willing to think and speak out regardless of being criticized.

yet another disaster in charge on the administration that we ought to continually take drastic action and spend quite some money to repair. there are a number of many greater scientists that do have self belief international warming is going on, and that it somewhat is a factor of the organic cycle of warming and cooling that the earth is going by using. they'd pass back (and characteristic) and rfile the sessions of warming and cooling and the outcomes that it has had. additionally organic activities like the eruption of Mt. St. Helens a great deal exceeds the end results of guy. each and every day, with out eruputions, seepage from international volcanoes debts for an substantial volume of the polution positioned into the ambience. The earth is going to warmth, and it is going to kick back. we won't be able to end that, no rely how plenty money we throw at it. the undeniable fact that we could have little result on international warming is not any justification, besides the undeniable fact that, for no longer doing all we can to be sturdy electorate of the planet.

Not really maiinly because this year has the largest icecap around antartica since they started looking at it with satalites also most of the ice in the polar icecaps in in the center not on the outside so naturally it would change from year to year.
B. the polar icecaps would litterally have to melt completely for the water to raise 40 feet and that would take tens of thousands of years.
C. unfortunatly humans have cause many creatures to go extict but much much more have died off naturally, Yes it sucks but therer really isnt much we can do about animals that are gonna go extinct eventually, maybe including us as well.
D. wild fires are more frequent mainly because we stop so many of them that there is a massive lair of underbrush that helps the fires burn hotter and longer.also if your refering to the california fires thats mainly because we constantly encroach on lands that were once wild forests or savanas that generally burn out every few years and we keep stoping those burns.
I would have to go with the grand old party the republicans mainly because granted neither party does anything atleast the republicans are generally technically correct.

Absolutely yes, now I don't know if it is because of the humans or it is just a regular cycle in nature, like last winter snowing in Buenos Aires for the first time in 100 years.

I don't know. I don't have enough science knowledge to take a position, other than this: It only makes sense to conserve our resources and strive to keep our air and water as pure as possible.

Unfortunately, neither of the parties has a corner on science either, so it's just another hateful potical football.
