No, I do not think that dissenting from the fear agenda that the President and Congress has put upon the minds of the lemmings is unpatriotic. In fact I say that a true patriot will always question the motives of those in power, and only if he decides by the his own moral light that they are right, will accept what they say as true.
I disagree with the war, because I understand that it was planned months in advance of 9/11, and thus despise the 'Leader' for his vainglorious throwing away of American Lives. That being said, I have the highest respect for the common grunts and even the non-Staff Level Officers that are merely doing what they think is their duty.
I know though that it is our duty to do what must be done to get them home so that they can be alive and well, with those that they love. And so that we can hold those that cynically through away their comrades in arms lives to the fullest extent that the Law will allow.
Dissent is not disloyalty. Using out Troops for a multinational money collection agency that is dishonor and disrespect!!

It is the other way around. Real patriotism is when citizens actually care about what happens to their country. Do you realize that one of the founding principles of this country was the right for it's people to question and disagree with the government. If it was unpatriotic to question the government, the United States would still be the 13 colonies of Great Britain. I think the troops have done their job. They liberated Iraq, they stayed long enough to establish a government, and they have softened up the insurgency to where the Iraqis need to stand up and fight. It's time to come home.

No it does not. It makes someone a free-thinker who can form an opinion on their own instead of having it told to them by the government or media.
Hey, America's founding fathers (and mothers) were considered "unpatriotic" to England.
I think that it is possible to respect the troops who are fighting the war while disagreeing with the premise of the war.

untimely withdrawal from Iraq may be a disaster. i think of that leaving now will practice to the terrorists that they do no longer ought to defeat our militia - they only ought to win the PR conflict. they are much greater helpful at enjoying the media than our government is. There ARE extremely some good issues taking place in Iraq, yet they are actually not very nicely publicized - our media, for some reason, has desperate that we don't need that recommendations. I disagree - individuals assume the media to cutting-edge the completed photograph, no longer in elementary terms the factors they deem substantial. this is quite unhappy, particularly, that our militia gets the fast end of the deal only so some "reporter" can spew his or her evaluations. purpose journalism is area of the previous. My best reason in the back of helping the conflict precise now's the undeniable fact that reenlistment is up plenty. the same ladies and men who're risking their lives over there are signing directly to circulate lower back. that announces a hell of plenty to me - greater effective than any pundit or media outlet. when I seek advice from people i know who've been in Iraq or are at the instant in Iraq, they have all informed me the same element - do no longer believe the media. and not all liberals are stupid, unpatriotic, and so on - no greater effective than all conservatives are hateful conflict-mongers.

I was wondering the other day,, how come with a population of around 400.000.000 or so, did not came out any Sylvester Stalone, Chuck Norris, or Clint Eastwood, that took the revenge of the towers on their own hands by getting in a plane in a hunting mission to Iraq or wherever Bin Laden and main associates could be, just like in any movie and either blown them apart or brought them for trial back to the USA.
Then although I'm a Democrat and I don;'t believe a single word that either Republicans or Bush could say about this "artificially 21st century war", I would have to admit that for one second Bush could be the only American with guts to confront this people that let's assume it is true attacked the Twins in Manhattan,
Just a thought out of my mind in Miami beach.

You should oppose all wars because wars are about killing and nothing good comes out of them. You oppose the war in iraq on moral grounds - it is wrong. Do not worry what other people say.
The iraq war is well known to have been waged on a pack of lies. Just put yourself in the shoes of iraqis - bombs can drop on you any time smashing you to the ground in the most brutal way. You are in your own country, an American flies from the states to your home to kill you. And you had done nothing to harm them.
You should also support a new investigation for 9-11. The way the 2 towers fell in free fall speed on their own foot prints, and that silverstein said he demolished tower 7 which was never hit by a plane points to holes in the official story.
9-11 was an inside job to mobilize support for the killings in iraq.

The people who are claiming that disagreement is unpatriotic subscribe to the motto "My country, right or wrong", because they feel a show of unity is of the utmost importance.
Those who feel the opposite believe that patriotism has more to do with steering a course truer to our national morals and ideals.
So it still boils down to should we as a nation be in Iraq? Obvious -- to me, at least -- is that both "sides" can have total respect (or even total disdain) for our troops, regardless.
If you look at the nation as if it were your own family, you will find the same shifting tensions.

It is easy to play the patriotic card. I, personally, thought the war in Iraq was a bad idea. I still support the troops, but I want them out of harms way. That to me is the ultimate support of the boy and girls facing death.
In Vietnam, I knew friends who went, friends who died, friends who went to prison, friends who went to Canada.
My draft number did not come up. I was never forced what decision that I would have had to make. The point of a democratic nation is that you are allowed to disagree with the policies made by the government.
Recall the quote "America, right or wrong, and when its right, keep it right, and when it's wrong, make it right."

No it is not unpatriotic unless you are surrounded by a bunch of Bush supporters who want to call you names.
The truth is Americans have a right to voice their opinions about anything in this country as long as it does not violate someone else's civil rights.
I, too, believe that the war in Iraq was unnecessary and that the U.S. military is not intended to be an invading force to overthrow government's that the sitting President does not like. Their intentions are as a last defense against foreign invaders. The Iraqi's weren't invading anyone. If anything, the invaders in this country are the illegal Mexicans that keep sneaking into the country and bringing their drugs and crime.

unfortunatly this is how many americans think,( if you can even call it thinking) they believe just what the govenment, media, and peers tellthem orlead them to believe. i think a good percentage of the american soilders are good people, alot of them brave and very proud to stand up and fight for their county, but the war iraq has nothing to do with protecting america. in my opinion it is the government sticking into the affairs of others trying to bully it's ways onto others for their own gain. this is not what these individuls signed up to do when they joined the military, but it is their job to do as they are told, if they do not we know what happens to them, so i say no it does not make you unpatriotic it makes you an individual, one who thinks on their own, not a sheeple
