The Dream Bill was something that if passed would allow illegal immigrants to use our federal money to go to college.

Because tax payers told Congress that they didn't want their tax money used to educate illegal aliens. What they want is a quick trip back to their country of origin. The sooner, the better. Disgusting criminals need to be deported as quickly as possible.

You have to ask....

The Dream Bill was designed to help ppl attend college that were brought to the USA when they were underage and had no choice.

From wiki
"The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act (also called "The DREAM Act") refers to a proposed immigration legislation in the United States Congress that intending to cancel the removal of and adjust the status of certain long-term residents who entered the United States as children.

The bill, in all its incarnations, has never been brought to a floor vote as a stand alone bill in either the House of Representatives or the Senate, despite passing the Senate Committee on the Judiciary with a vote of 16-3 and at one point having 47 co-sponsors in the senate. The text of the bill has also been included in various other immigration-related bills, including the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006, which was approved by the Senate and the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007, which failed in a 44-52 cloture vote in the Senate. The bill provided a means for those brought here as children to qualify for legal resident status and then citizenship. The only "federal money to go to college" was that, if the child received the status of permanent legal resident, he/she would be as eligible as any other permanent legal resident to apply for student loans, work-study programs, and services under Title IV.

Why would that pass? Seriously, I'm no immigrant hater but paying for their college? That's borderline absurd.

If schazjmd below me is right then that's a little more reasonable.

Because American Taxpayers said NO MORE FREELOADING. We want the criminals out, the employers fined and this issue to be dealt with.
