how awkward was "the talk" with your parents, or guardians

It was like a 6. I already knew everything that needed to be talked about. (It's pretty sad that kids in like 3rd grade already know so much.) I have a younger sister, and 2 brothers, and my mom had the talk with me in the car. She started to explain it to me, and I was like, "Mom! I already know. You don't have to tell me, especially in front of them!"
And then when she tried to talk to me again, it was in front of my dad. He hates to hear about stuff like this, so he was pretty grossed out, and I was so embarrased. I actually had to pick the time to tell her that I knew everything.

for me, a 6. i used the 'i know the routine...i get it....ok whatever' careless teen approach to the whole 'talk' and it kinda help lessen the tension when youre acting like you dont care and wanna get it overwith. as long as your parents/guardian gets that you know what theyre saying and understand it should be overwith pretty quickly depending on how thorough you parents/guardians wanna get. a note of warning though if your parents are the strict 'ground you for stupid reasons kind' it might not be a good idea to act like you dont care and just make sure they got their point across. hehhehehe -- I am in the middle of "the talk" right now with my son. not at this exact moment, but we are taking it as a process, a short -- anatomy - human sexuality abbreviated and appropriate for the almost 10 age group. Being very careful and open minded -- giving this a lot of though and consideration as i go.
The talk with my parents ? well mainly -- I got all the info from books and then asked - mainly my mom -- and dad and grandparents too, if i had my info and my ideas straight! hehehe
