Hi there,

I have bought a portable air conditioner that has a window kit (am renting, so can't cut holes in walls etc). The problem I have is that the only "window" in my bedroom is actually two doors. I can keep one closed and open one, but don't have any idea how to seal off the opening to stop hot air entering. Would LOVE some advise.

You'd have to install a temporary solid wood door with a hole cut in it for the a/c unit and build a ledge for it to sit on that's well braced. Some home centers sell damaged doors at cheaper prices...you'd have to find one to match the existing door size. A/C units discharge water that's collected from the room so you'll have to figure out how to drain that off as well if it's not placed on an outside wall. You may be better off placing the a/c unit in a close-by window and pointing a fan towards your bedroom to get cool air to it.

Sounds like you have the same air conditioner we have. Free standing and can be moved from room to room. If this is true, you should also have a door kit along with window kit.

The door kit would be for a patio door. I'm trying to picture how that (door kit) would fit with two doors. We haven't used the door kit, but do have patio door in bedroom.

If this air conditioner is the same as what we have, go back to store where purchased and ask them for door kit and should have been included. At the same time, ask how to install with the two doors.

Door kit does go from floor to ceiling. Maybe if you open the one door and slip the door kit between the two doors. and will be kept in place by both doors.

Ask dealer questions mentioned above and your problem may be solved.

Good Luck
