It’s like the Republican party has lost their “war on reason” and are awaiting their sentencing in 2008. Hence many top Republicans are predicting an end of the GOP in the near future.

The Tower of Babel was a tower built to reach the heavens by a united humanity, all speaking a single language. God saw that humans would be able to do whatever they set their minds to, so he confused their unified language and scattered them. What that has to do with President Bush, I'm totally not understanding. I'm also not understanding what Buchanan has to do with "top Republicans" because he isn't one.

I think maybe you should do a little more non-biased research on your own and stop listening to leftist (or in the case of Buchanan, rightist) quack jobs.

For instance... President Bush never claimed to be "conservative" he claimed to be "moderate." So, there really isn't any such thing as "Bush Conservatism." There is a movement among the Republican party for more conservative leadership, as in more conservative than the current President. I also have never gotten the feeling that the Republican party has any sort of feeling of "awating sentencing." I full well expect the next president to be a Republican, and one that is as socially conservative and far more economically conservative as President Bush.

As for a war on reason... I'm pretty sure Hillary's losing that one all on her own i.e. "I have a million idea's for this country, but America can't afford them all."

Yes, I would have to agree with that assessment. The "conservatives" have been infected with the same brain virus that liberals have. Now both old parties can't get enough government. Even though the Republicans want to keep taxes low, they spend our government money like drunken Kennedies.

I really doesn't matter how much taxes you raise anymore, all the federal government needs to do is borrow unlimited funds from the Federal Reserve Bank.

This is why Ron Paul is getting so much support, he opposes the welfare state that both parties have built over the years. More people are learning of the dishonesty of the federal reserve, and learning that the Marxist income tax really has no place in a capitalist country.

Buchanan?

Your quoting Buchanan, the man that the Republicans would never support when he tried to run.

My goodness you are really stretching.

Bush never claimed to be a Consevative.
He is a liberal republican, which is worse than a liberal democrat.
