Which Democrat you choose doesn't matter unless you live in Iowa or New Hampshire. After them unfortunately it will be mostly decided already. The primary system is due for an overhaul.
I'd think twice before listening to these Republican shills - Democrats DO have a reputation as tax and spend. But Bush's Iraq War will cost around 1.4 TRILLION dollars by the time we pay it off, that's nearly $5,000 the AVERAGE American will have to pay eventually, and many times more for someone in your tax bracket.
You are not in the top 1 or 2 percent, so you're not in bad shape with the Democrats. You're not even close to the richest of the rich (sorry, but you not even in the top 5%). And just maybe your tax dollars will not be wasted, but actually go to IMPROVING the standing of the US in the world, raising the economy and your salary. Dare I dream we pursue an endeavor that's well though out and executed with some level of competence?
Republicans have had the run of the place for nearly 7 years. What can they point to with pride? Anything positive? Only if you are SUPER-rich (not so much you, you merely well-off loser) in which case tax cuts that even Alan Greenspan said were fiscally irresponsible and did more harm than good.
Now, the economy is in recession, every day is a new story of waste, $10 billion given to Bush's buddy Musharraf, billions more wasted on a poorly executed spy satellite system, $9 billion more unaccounted for in Iraq spending, $12 billion more in shrink-wrapped $100 bills LOST- I am not making this up - that's 363 metric tons of $100 bills completely vanished!
P.S. I answered as if you were asking a real question and not just making a point that Dems are tax & spend, whereas Republicans are just spend.

If you want to pay less taxes, I would highly recommend that you not vote for a Democrat at all. The party most in line with reducing taxes and increasing freedom are the Libertarians. If you like the social values of the Democratic party, but want lower taxes & greater governmental fiscal responsibility, I'd have to suggest you to consider Guiliani in the next presidential race.

I make considerably more than $143k a year and I would never consider voting for a Democrat. My widowed mother who receives less than $8k a year from Social Security would never consider voting Democrat.
Money is only one consideration. Not only have the Democrats promised to raise our taxes, but they also have promised to pull our troops out of Iraq thereby loosing the war and offering a safe haven to terrorists. They also want open borders so more illegal immigrants can flood into America and send their money to Mexico and further hurt our economy.
With the Democrats you get a choice. Pay higher taxes, allow terrorists the opportunity to destroy our country, or ruin our economy to support Mexico.
Have you ever considered voting Republican?

Hopefully, you wouldn't vote solely based on taxes...and you make quite a large amount of it...so....
yeah, anyway...
Here's a list of ALL (or at least, a good portion) the election topics that you might want to consider when looking into a candidate to support. . .

*Ron Paul!! Woot woot! (he actually might be someone you'd be interested. He's practically an independent candidate who's against big government, and wants to help relieve some tax-burdens of the middle classes...just something to consider).

First of all, your question is too vague.
But if money is your voting ticket, then vote for Dennis Kucinich. As a mayor, he lowered taxes. As a Congressman, he's continually fought for middle class America---what you are.
Here's an excerpt from his site:
He was elected mayor of Cleveland in 1977 on the promise to save the city’s municipally-owned electric system which offered customers significantly lower rates than the private utility. A year later, Cleveland’s banks demanded that he sell the city’s 70 year-old municipally-owned electric system to its private competitor (in which the banks had a financial interest) as a precondition of extending credit to the city.
The attempted political blackmail failed as did several assassination attempts. He remembered his parents counting out coins on the dresser and refused to sell the people’s power. In an incident unprecedented in modern American politics, the Cleveland banks plunged the city into default for a mere $15 million despite being offered triple collateral to protect the loan.
The principled stand destroyed his political career. He lost his reelection bid. He was demonized as the mayor who threw Cleveland into default. Fifteen years later, the citizens of Cleveland - recognizing he had saved them hundreds of millions of dollars in municipal power bills and also forced the private utility to keep bills low to compete – voted him into the Ohio Senate. His campaign signs featured a light bulb and the expression “Because he was right.” In 1998 the Cleveland City Council honored Dennis for “..having the courage and foresight to refuse to sell the city’s municipal electric system.”
Dennis is your candidate!
