I will.
My commitment is to myself.

Well, first of all, your commitment to what? There are at least thirty different things I can think of that I've committed myself to and am currently actively working on in my life right now, but they all have different degrees of importance. Some commitments you can't help but have to depend on other people for. And some completely depend on you and your faith. If you're agnostic or atheist, then you're obviously not going to pray to a higher power to keep you strong.
And when you say alone, do you mean like when you go home after work and there is nobody at home? Or do you mean like you feel completely alone in your life and have nobody to turn to?
For the longest time I thought I didn't need anybody but myself to depend on, but once I admitted to myself that I was alone I opened my heart and at once a beautiful man stepped in to play the role of what I had been missing for so long. When you're alone, I think you have to be a stronger person, because you're taking life on by yourself.
If you don't have anyone to help you, I suggest keeping a journal, and write down the goals that you've set in your life. It helps to go back and read them, and to get a fresh sense of motivation if you've started to slip. You'll remember how dogmatic you felt when you made that commitment to yourself , and it will help you renew that determination.

So...blah blah blah, right? These are just my own opinions, you can throw them out if you'd like. Interesting question, by the way. Really makes you think.

First of all...you need to make a commitment to yourself..to be the very best your are able...how do you find that out..1st..if it doesn't hurt, destroy, damage or change someone by making them less, then focus on those type of actions...ever watch people doing things and saying things that make you feel soo uncomfortable..MAKE SURE you aren't like that. By just NOT doing certain things, you are respecting yourself. 2nd, value HONOR and what it means...in whatever you do...that REINFORCES you...to remain true...if still struggling...take a shower AFTER trying a sample of lotion...to "soften" your skin!!! When you're totally alone, you should be able to carry out your commitments due to character. If you need someone there to make sure you carry them out it means you have no character, or a serious lack thereof.

Well, if you're alone, technically, no one can have you committed in the first place...

Yourself. If it's truly what you want, you shouldn't need someone else to tell you that you want it.
