Intelligence is not the issue.
Wisdom is.
It's amazing how smart our parents become once we leave home.

Where children/teenagers have more "booksmarts," adults have more wisdom in life experiences which only comes with age. For example a 16 year old may be able to ace a chem exam and a 32 yr old would fail, that same 32 yr old will be much more knowledgeable on how to pay bills, balance a check book, change the oil in a car or what to do when you car is overheating on a bust interstate, not to mention handle an emergency situation without freaking out completely (nothing like seeing an emergency tracheotomy being performed ona 2 yr old the side of the road). Adults and children/teenagers can actually learn a lot from each other if they are willing to listen and learn from each other.

It's all about seniority. If you've ever been the freshman in the class they are the ones who get picked on the most and are the ones who have to do the dirty work for the seniors. Adults think they are smarter because they were born first. But i agree with you, there are alot of kids who are way smarter than adults.

Of course they do! Because they think, or KNOW, that they have had a lot more experience with situations in their lifetime, but many adults seem to forget to step back and just observe from afar. Kid observe all the time, all they are ALOUD to do is observe life because parents lay it out for them and it whooshes by in a crazy-fast flurry.
Kids are very good at pointing out the obvious, but sometimes when hearing the words from them like "That man is mean" or something along those frank lines, it can really slow down an adult and they suddenly have to think about it, but the child already KNOWS.
If any of that made any sense at all, then wow, you must be inside my head at the moment.

I don't think that most adults actually believe that they are smarter than children, rather more knowledgable. Adults have simply had more experience in almost every way the word can be used

That's funny....I know some adults to do some stupid things but none compare to the following Ive seen kids do:
1) Stand in a sink with lipstick all over them trying to clean it off with a hair dryer. This was a 10 year old male who was high on multiple drugs.
2) Sticking keys, pennies and other metalic objects into power outlets.
3) Launching fireworks from their rectum.
4) Skate boarding off the roof of a 3rd floor building trying to land on a handrail below to grind. Result: 4 broken ribs, punctured lung, skull fracture, bilateral femur fractures. $7,000 helicopter flight to a level 1 trauma facility.
5) Racing a car down a highway at over 200mph, hitting a telephone pole and disintegrating the vehicle.
6) Joining gangs that "protect" you by having you kill people such as performing a drive by on a house and killing a one year old infant. Makes a 15 year old look real tough....not.
Shall I go on? Like I've said, adults do some dumb things, but kids have them beat on both quantity and quality. I dont mind though. Im in EMS, what you call stupid I call job security.

Adults know they are smarter than children, if nothing else just living life for many years teaches you a lot, not to mention all the life experiences they have endured, so please don't be hard headed and refuse to listen to your parents, you will surely regret it one day. Most children at one point in life think they know more than their parents, I thought that once also, boy was I wrong.

Well, honestly, alot of adults may not be as smart as you. However; life is a funny but wonderful thing. The longer you live, usually, the more wisdom you aquire. So smart is great, but smart without wisdom, is liking having the meal without the eating utensil. You do understand that analogy, dont you?

Smarter isn't the notice i might use to describe what babies exceed at greater effective than adults... i might use greater strategic than adults, maximum infants could be greater useful at fixing problems swifter than the common grownup and additionally are greater acceptable at finding types greater acceptable. If i'm incorrect then so be it yet those are the flaws that I even have heard, discovered, and studied.

Yes adults are smarte than children and yes, every generation has felt the same as you. However, being an adult I can only say that I've already forgotten more than you know.
