I like being able to pay my rent week to week and being able to move with no deposit, and also have everything furnished. I am a college student so I just need a place to sleep, shower and study.

well, it tends to be more expensive than living in an apartment and it also has less in the way of space. Also, people who want to do drugs tend to inhabit quite a few of these places because they never have the money to pay for a full months rent at a time. This can make the neighborhood a little sketchy.

Other than that, if there aren't a bunch of druggies for neighbors and the rent is less than an apartment, I don't see why not.

Choose the best you can afford, buy good earplugs, experiment with drinking liquid late, so that nature will wake you instead of an alarm, and even then, coming and going, don't establish eye contact, in case a shady character up to no good doesn't want to be seen. Develop a habit of a downward gaze as you come and go, and a manner of preoccupation with studious thought, but pay attention to your immediate surroundings. Stay aware. You will find beyond the possibility of shady characters, also rowdy parties. Don't leave anything of value in the room or in your car, in your absence

Sounds like you know what works best for you. The only thing I can see "wrong" with it in your case would be that it may get expensive, but if you can afford it- sounds great. You also have someone that will come and clean up, and change your bedding. Every college students dream!

Well, it is fine as a college student, but once you get out, you'll want to own property as an asset. It can grow in value over time, and it gives you something to work for. Don't worry about it yet.
