Try cutting out all gluten (wheat, oats, barley, rye, and malt) and dairy from your diet. This is HARD to do, I know! But it just might be what you need.
IBS is a bull**** diagnosis - you know your bowels are irritable, that's why you went to see the doc, right? It's a syndrome, not a condition, and most docs are too darn lazy to figure out the condition causing the syndrome.

Recently, modern science has caught up with medical folklore resulting in the world's first and only formulation to harness the power of the mangosteen fruit in its complete whole-fruit goodness including the rind, stem, seeds and 3 leaves.
This is the first product to capture the magical essence of this exotic botanical and because it uses the whole fruit puree in its most bioavailable form and not synthetic extracts as in pills or capsules, when you drink this product not only do you get the nearly 40 known xanthones, but you also get numerous other high impact nutrients, all of which have been extensively studied around the world and have proven to have many potential health benefits as well.

This is one of the specific conditions naturopaths treat, and it's pretty much completely dependent on diet.
I'd recommend a specific regimin for you, but theres a bit of variation person to person, so you would probably be better off seeing an ND (provided you are in a state where they had to have gone to an accredited school).
I personally have one friend with this problem and naturopathy worked for him. If you want I can forward what he was told, but I personally would advise an actual appointment :P

Peppermint has been widely used from Egypt to the Americas for both medicinal and culinary purposes for centuries. Many parts of the plant are used for its traditional benefits. Peppermint tea and oil has long been used to address digestive problems such as; flatulence, upset stomach and decreasing inflammatory conditions. Early herbal medicine texts mention peppermint as a good remedy for ‘raising internal heat and inducing perspiration’, a muscle relaxant (particularly in the digestive tract), reduces the inflammation of nasal passages, relieves muscle pains and was recommended as an early treatment for colds to affect a cure.

Mix two spoons of Isabgol powder in curds, keep it for five minutes and then eat. Do this twice a day. You may add sugar for taste. It may take about 6 to 8 months to give desired result. It works. Cud is too good for colon.

All that stuff in the Dual Cleanse formula is pretty much natural. Besides if you fork out $50 bucks for it . It makes you fell stupid when you eat the same crap that gave you the problem in the first place. But if you cant change your diet then there is no cure.

Yes you should improve your diet. Also cut down on stress. Also find a supplement with at least 6 different probiotics, good bacteria. Also see site below under kombuchu tea. It is a tea with moldy fungus in it. Also see bottom of page on natural healing about Crohn's disease success story.

I will add this to the things that have already been said. Try drinking lots of good clean water and try fasting 1 day per week. When you are fasting make very sure you are drinking plenty of water.
