I turn on my car and it starts good. sometimes when im at stop signs the idle jumps up and down. other times when im stopped the engine just shuts off and i need to start it up again. it starts right up again and drives fine its only when im stopped that there are problems. what could this be? do you think it will be expensive to fix?

If it only happens when the engine warms up it could possible be the coolant temperature sensor that is faulty. If it hasn't had a tune up for a couple of years it would pay do do a tune up before going any further.
