i've never had watermelon wine, but old dogs and children are certainly at the top of my list as is Tom T.Hall so yes it ranks up there amongst the best, as you do, okiefan for keeping us on our toes and informed about good things and bad. thank you once again for your input.

It's one of his best songs ever written but he had a knack for story telling that made him famous over it. and to think, the story of old dogs wasn't made up but was a actual conversation years ago that happened on the last day of 1972 while he was sitting at that airport bar in Miami. (it was part of an interview but don't remember where exactly I remember it from)

And to think he wrote a story that spawn a one hit wonder and a movie about a mother who wears mini-skirts that the daughter's school didn't approve of "harper Valley PTA"
