I picture James Woods the actor.
I don't like either name, sorry.

Interesting question. ;)
I get a similar mental picture of both Moses and Ezekiel on a grown man. On a younger man, the names seem unexpectedly quirky/funky -- not quite sure how to phrase it, but it's good :) -- like he might just as easily be an artist, clergyman or business owner, if you follow. Sort of all-around classic, yet completely intriguing choices. On an older man, perhaps a bit less unexpected (of course, that would be an older man NOW, not necessarily 70 years from now) but still completely charming and gentlemanly, if you follow. ;)
On a younger boy or infant/toddler, I do get slightly different feels. Moses then seems quirkier. More daring and intriguing, if you will. Ezekiel seems slightly more mainstream at the moment, fitting in with similar names such as Zachary (and all the other Z names currently on the rise), Isaiah, Isaac, Elijah, etc. Especially with the nickname Zeke -- which is fine, by the way ;) -- he would more easily blend into a sea of Zachs, Zanes and Zaydens. But then, blending's not necessarily a positive. Just something to keep in mind.
l prefer Moses, personally. Just so perfectly charming and yet not run-of-the-mill by any means. Quite lovely, to be honest. ;)
Ps. I know a little Ezekiel called "EZ" (as in "easy"). Definitely the sort of pet form I'd avoid, for what it's worth. LOL

If you want a Biblical name, I wouldn't go with Moses. I mean, the kid would have a whole heck of a lot to live up to. I'm actually partial to Noah myself, but that could be because I personally know someone with that name. Moses, not so much.
I do like Zeke, though. It's a little different.

oddly i think that moses is a little boy. I can never imagine a man with that name. Ezekiel on the other hand sounds good. Zeke would be even better. Zeke will most likely carry him well through high school locker rooms and girls. Trust me I should know. Congratulations on a boy!

I imagine in both cases a very strong and tough man. He would be the sort to be mushy but only once you got to know him well. I can see a no-nonsense personality. They would both be very intelligent, but I see Ezekiel having more of a sense of humor with his friends. And I see him being good looking too.
I think that Zeke is a cute nickname, as is Mo.
I think that I would pick Ezekiel as a name because I like Zeke, and because it is slightly less serious than Moses, making it suitable for a child as well as a strong man.
Good luck to you!

Zeke and Ezekiel are Amish names. which is fine, i guess if your into that, but i dont find it attractive, at all. and James is not a great nickname if your last name is Wood. give him an easy name, since hes already going to be tortured because of his last name!

Sorry, I don't like either!
Matthew James
Joshua James
Elijah James
Those would be better alternatives.
Moses James or Ezekiel James sound too old-fashioned.
Mo James or Zeke James are not much better! Sorry!

my dog's name is moses, so when i hear moses, i picture a Yorkie-poo (Yorkshire terrier - poodle mix). however, when i hear the the name Ezekiel, i think of the nickname Zeke, which is a name i absolutely adore, and it makes me think of a fun person with a great laugh and a fabulous sense of humor.

While I admire the people who orgininally carried these names, I think they're a bit heavy for today. But of the two I would pick Ezekiel and agree that EJ would be the way to go.
