Temperatures vary greatly on the moon at its equator. Ranging from -280 degrees F at night to 260 degrees F in the day time. Some places where the sun does not shine on such as deep craters are always cold at near -400 degrees F.
The lack of atmosphere on the moon causes any radiation such that as light to bounce off into space without being trapped by an Earth type atmosphere. Since the moons orbital tilt has only a 5 degree incline there are no seasons to speak of as opposed to Earth’s 23 ½ degree inclination with respect to the sun. Sun light will always hit the moons surface in the same places throughout it orbit. This means that some places on the moon are either always in sunlight like the poles or always in darkness like its north facing craters.
