I believe if the straight people do not want gay people to get married because it lessens the sanctity of marriage, then shouldn't it be illegal to get a divorce? If there is anything that lessens the sanctity of marriage, it would be divorce.

Your post illustrates a good example of the hypocracy of the anti-gay marriage crowd (well at least many of them).

I suppose you have a point but people shouldnt have to live in misery if its actually a bad marriage but i dont think all people think that the sanctity of a marriage is lessened by divorce. If youre not happy in a marriage talk it out but sometimes divorce is the right thing to do.

Think about it this way.....according to the survival of the species ....the inner drive ....the most innate instinct points to the fact that there is the need for the species to multiply.....so basically with a species with individuals getting together but failing to produce offspring in the long run would become extinct wouldn't it.....however then again why god had created individuals that does so....well who am i too answer and judge his creation right....I am sure behind everything that god has allowed to happen there must be some purpose or lessons n guidance in life.

So like gay marriage and divorces there must be some good reasons behind them for the survival of individuals and also the species as a whole.

Illegal.. probably not. .. it is sad when parents stay together "for the kids sake" when they really hate each other.. the kids know and feel the hatred.

It just should be harder to divorce. In New Zealand.. the people have to separate for 2 years before they can divorce. Really makes you think before you even get married.

What lessens marriage to me is when people really do not have the intention of a commitment for life. They just have the attitude that the marriage is like a car.. when they are sick of it.. trade in time.

I don't believe in telling other people who to love or how to live. I believe that this stance is necessary in order to assure freedom. How else but by defending the rights of others regardless of my position on said matters can I legitimately complain where others who profess to love freedom deny me the same freedoms they enjoy?

The family is under attack from all sides. The lawyer wants only central government to have any authority. It wants marriage and family to become meaningless, by expanding it all variations of human link ups. When that fails, marriage with pets are coming from the lawyer criminal syndicate.

it (divorce) should be allowed to be presecuted as a breach of contract . a ligitimate contract has penalties for violating.- not to mention being a broken promise to almighty God in certain circles ..... not that it matters now . I think it should be illegal to take someones child though .... again - not that it matters now. In short - yes - it should be illegal.

I understand where your coming from, and I am also confused by this blatant denial of Civil Rights to a specific group of people. Really, what century are we living in?
