For Java, just check http://www.java.com and go to document and developer icon.

In fact, you only need to use yahoo search eng. to locate information. There is no need to have books, esp. in computing field.

As computing is running so fast, all books are outdated and you just wasting money. In fact, for a professional engineer intelligence is much higher than money in value. You need to have an innovative mind to resolve problems.

Unfortunately, nowadays, book-worms are classified as "dead-fish" i.e. no difference. In computing, boss or human resource would only consider educated people as dead-fishes, no matter whether you are a technical college graduate or PhD in any field of computing.

Conclusively, you cannot be a professional merely by reading, but by innovative contribution.
