I find these commencent ceremonies, including my own, to be hot and dull. What was specail about yours?

I was so excited to be moving on! The day was beautiful, it was an outdoor ceremony and my family and boyfriend were there to cheer me on. I had done well in high school and was sooo looking forward to my future. How I wish I could capture that rare feeling I had in a bottle to be sipped when times got difficult, a little pick me up to move on with excitement.

We were praying that it wouldn't rain, because if it did then the administration said that they would likely cancel it. Turns out, it didn't rain. We did however end up with 15 mph winds blowing our hats off. Other than that, our principal began his speech with a metaphor about life relating to an etch-a-sketch. Sounds good right? It would have been if it had not been a 10 minute long analogy telling us to "take life by the knobs" and "draw tree-like objects with [our] eyes closed." He also included that he "didn't know what the 'stylus' was called so [he] dubbed it 'the thing.'" Apparently he used the same speech at the 8th grade graduation ceremony too...

The only thing memorable about graduation is the parties I went to after the ceremonies...lol

It was hard for me because i went away to go to HS and live with a friend. my mom and dad could not make it. but was glad to graduate. the ceremony was kinda dull

during the ceremony... It was long and HOt....
but then afterwards...it was emotional.. and I probably won't forget it
