Why are most boys who are in their teens so much skinnier than the girls?

Not all guys are skinnier and not all girls are bigger. But I've observed the people in my school and kids on TV and such, and most of the time the boy is always so much skinnier. I know boys are late developers, but I'm not talking about them being smaller...like in shorter. Why are they so stick thin?

Rong R...I am living in North America. In the US in fact. I know about video games and the such. And I'm not saying all guys are skinnier, just most.

Because they are late developers. The girls have already passed starting their girlish figures, while the boys metabolism is gearing up for theirs. The guys are burning up a lot of calories during this preparation.

Guys are generally skinnier because they're designed to be muscular and burn fat...oestrogen (female hormone) makes women put on weight especially around the chest and hips, and you need a certain amount of weight/body fat to menstruate etc. also girls generally go through puberty faster so as teens they are more physically mature than the same-aged guys.

Guys tend to get bigger and bigger as they grow older whether it be fatter or more muscular. But these days, thanks to video games and fast food diets, there should be all sorts of fat guys around. If this is not true in your country, you must not be living in North America.

because they don't worry about there weight. when you worry about it, you get stressed. Stress causes dramatic weight gain, so stop worrying about it.
