Please feel free at any time to start listing rights and freedoms lost. If I have lost any I would like to know.

Of course it is only happening to liberals. I'm conservative and I know none of my rights have disappeared. Liberals must live in a parallel universe or something. Some place where all the wonderful things that make up the USA do not exist. It is sad. Maybe we should throw the libs a party or something so they won't feel so blue about their sad lives. What do you think?

For the guy who said look up the word "Liberal" in the dictionary I assume to show the one definition of "Liberal" ? Then again in the "Liberal " dictionary the word "IS" can have more than one meaning , so why can`t "Liberal" have more than one meaning ? Has there ever been a more ignorant question response than , " it depends on what your definition of is is " ! This is one freedom "Liberals" can`t live without , and that is being able to make words and definitions up as they go to suit their agenda !

Oh, now you did it.
You challenged them.
Worst of all, you challenged them with a common-sense question. You are so evil. :D

RE: Look up the word "Liberal" ?
Why don't you look up the word Conservative . . . ? As a matter of fact, look it up in a modern dictionary and then look it up in one printed say, back in the 60's or 70's . . . Go ahead, try it! You will find that the definition has been "changed" to support a "Liberal" agenda.
Just go do it. I challenge you. :D

Check it out . . .
Old definition: "One who adheres to tradition."
New definition: "Opposed to change"

-Wow! That works for somebody doesn't it? Hmm. I wonder who.

When rights and freedoms are traded for security (or sometimes because someone claims that security is threatened) the rights are lost by all citizens.

The term "liberal" is sometimes used to describe the ones who notice that it's happening and complain about it. "Conservative" or "Neocon" is a label associated with those who think some rights may be given up to make them safer (or sometimes to allow them to feel safer).

Intelligent people will ask if the rights being given up will actually improve security, whether the price is worth any improvement that may come, and whether a later government might abuse the new powers.

That's not fair...You're giving them a headache...if any rights were violated....most of the posters here would be in prison by now.

I feel deeply sorry for you young people who have absolutely no idea of what you have lost. This is just the beginning. Power is absolutely corrupt.

When this surveillance becomes old hat, it will be seriously abused and you'll be the last to know the consequences. You are entirely too trusting for your own good. But if it makes you feel good that you are supporting government actions that are completely at odds with what this country has always stood for, then who am I to worry about you. I'm getting old and will likely be dead before it hits the fan. I do worry for my grandchildren and pray that this is all resolved in some way that protects them from tyranny

You stupid conservatives would be happy to live under any dictatorship, with no civil liberties at all. That's why we liberals have to defend freedoms and liberties so that the US doesn't become a tyranny.
