I would love to have a real tree because of the fragrance. But my father had an allergy to evergreen trees, so we had to get a fake one. The latest artifical trees with the lights already on them are pretty awesome. So either is your preference.

Usually artificial. I love real trees but with an artificial tree, I can put it up earlier and I don't have to water it or vacuum up pine needles. Once in a while we do a real tree though. Nothing beats the smell from a real tree!

Artificial. I love real trees, but they are messy and can become a fire hazard. Also, I hate the thought of chopping down thousands of trees. It always makes me sad to see so many left over after Christmas. What a waste.

real ones make a mess but I suppose it really depends on which you prefer. I myself have a fake tree which I like because I just save it up after Christmas. I also have friends that swear by real trees, they love the smell.

I like a real tree for the smell that emanates through the House but I think that fake trees last longer are less expensive over time and aren't as messy

Artificial....we got a real one once & our cat (that weighs 16lbs.) decided to climb the real one. Which resulted in the tree falling down (on top of our dog) & just about all the ornaments got broken. so there was glass in the carpet. Never had a real tree again.
