Ever since Guitar Hero has been on the market, I've been very confused about the whole idea of the "Hero" and usic industry.

I've played guitar hero once, and thought it was cool, but how many musicians out there, who actually play an instrument (guitar) hate this idea?

Maybe it's just cool at college partys when you're drunk and THINK you can play guitar.

You're making the assumption that everyone who plays it does so because they think it's just like playing the real guitar, or of the same caliber.

My friend plays guitar AND guitar hero, so that gets rid of one of those ideas. I've 5*'ed every song in the series (including Jordan and Through the Fire and the Flames) and I still know that I'm not playing an actual representation of a guitar.

There are some idiots that ruin it for the rest of us by doing stage moves and things like that while playing, but most people aren't like that.

Dude, it's just a game. I really doubt people who play it really think that they can actually play guitar. Unless they're good at both the game AND real guitar... but if you hate the idea of Guitar Hero, that's your own opinion, because it really sells.

And your question title says you hate the game, yet in your description you state that you've played it once and thought it was cool. Sudden change of heart?

Guitar Hero is a game. It's not intended to teach anyone how to play a musical instrument. Besides, many people who play Guitar Hero can already play a musical instrument. My daughter, who plays cello (an instrument she says is harder to learn than guitar), loves this game.

I play guitar but have never played guitar hero. I could see how musicians could find it boring....(or not worth their time)....just because they actually know how to REALLY play the guitar and what the hell would be the point to fake play in a video game....mabey if after you could smash the guitar to peices or into a crowd...I've always wanted to do that but could never hurt my guitar...lol...can you do that in the game?? ****..that would make it interesting for a few turns anyway..lol.

I play guitar and my other friends who play drums, bass, guitar, etc. love it too. I think it's great that for the musicians who can't play those songs yet get inspiration to be able to do as good on a real instrument as GH.

Guitar Hero is way fun, but many musicians who actually play guitar hate it because they see it as being a "poser."

I play guitar , acoustic and electric and I play them pretty well

If someone wants to emulate a guitae player I have no problems with that

It's just a game, so I personally have no problem with it

Ahhhhhhhh haha I COMPLETLY agree with you! My sister and I were cracking up about this earlier- its such a stupid premise- Its like DDR but with your fingers. My brother is obbsesed he has 3 guitars and spends so much money on the face-plates and stuff. I've played it a couple of times, and yeah I can see how it is kinda fun and hilarious when people like me get like 33% accuracy but after a few times how is it still fun. hah mmm good question :)

I've only played it a couple times, and I'm not a fan of it either.
