The average american buys for approximately 8-10 people...what's your budget?

I'm buying for 8 people and am sticking to a $1000. budget....unless my hubby gets his bonus - then I am secretly buying a big screen tv (he thinks we're saving it for a new bathroom)...

$400 for 8 people . . . i'm not splitting it so that every person is $50, it's just that i'm trying to do things that are thoughtful and meaningful for each person . . . if one is less than $50 or one is more, i'm not worried. so far, i'm about 75% done with the shopping and still have about $125 to spare.

Ours is about $2,000. We spend about $1000 on our family members and the other $1,000 on ourselves. We're trying to decide what we're going to buy for ourselves this year...we may end up putting the money towards a plasma screen t.v. as well if his bonus is large enough!
