Why have not we? Perhaps not only the light is being distorted through the vacuum but their radio transmissions as well. All electromagnetic radiation is said to travel at the same speed and may subject to the similar conditions that makes light coming from distant stars twinkle. Could it be possible to unscramble such a signal that my be out there by using the patterns in the light? I wonder!

that's a good story, but in truth, any life smart enough to span the cosmos or find a way to make contact across the cosmos, is far to smart to be messing with the likes of anything on this planet...we're all mad as hatters here, or haven't to been paying attention to history.

The sound went out on my computer...so I have no idea what ya'll are talking about. I did see the movie "Contact". But the movie I really liked was the one where (the guy who played Jesus) (Jim Caviezel?) (contacted his father (from the past) on a ham radio. (Just thought I"d throw that in...since you're showing trailers to movies)

Contact is a great movie. The only bad part is how they give way too much credit to the religionists. Oh, and the discrediting she is subject to at the end is complete nonsense.

That was an awesome movie. Are you asking why she is willing to give her life to test the machine? Watch the movie and you will find out. She is not really searching for aliens she is searching for her deceased father.
