Yeah! Vlad and Derek and Manny and Big Papi and David Eckstein, and others. I get so tired of people bashing Bonds and others but never mentioning the good guys. These guys belong on the ALL NICE ALL STAR TEAM. Throughout the history of the game there have been good guys (and bad) and lately to bad guys are the only ones to get any notice. People are afraid to stick up for the good guys in case someone disagrees and makes fun of their choice. But I'm going to join you in championing some of the upright guys who play the game. Give yourself a clap on the shoulder for me.

i think just about everyone agrees, players, fans and writers, that former tiger's first baseman sean casey is the nicest guy in baseball. any time any player reaches first, vets and rookies both, he chats them up. mentions a great play the player may have made a few games back. most runners hate having him at first, because he gets players laughing so hard, it makes concentrating that much harder.
sean is always smiling, he's a huge leader in the clubhouse. he's great with rookies and helping them learn the ropes. he never trash talks anyone, in the clubhouse or to the media.
he spent most of his career in cincy, and to this day, at the GAB, you will find more #21 casey jerseys than anyone else. more than dunn, more than junior.
infact, last season, players took a poll of the friendliest guy in ball, and casey was a land slide winner.

He is a swell guy, but I remember very distinctly a game when he was still with the Expos when he argued a strikeout and got ejected. For some reason that stuck with me, but really he seems to be a decent guy. The nicest? Probably not. I don't think anyone can say for sure who that is, but it's good to just be mentioned.

I dont think he is the nicest of all the major players, but makes the top 10. I believe Phillies Jamie Moyer gets numbero uno. He always puts kids first, and was leading in the roberto clemente award. He is always helping rookies out on new techniques n stuff, Jamie Moyer gets my vote.

I remember meeting him in Houston when he was a rookie with the Expos and he was a nice guy signed a ball for me and took a bunch of pix with some kids.He still had a cast on for a broken arm at the time but he was still taking batting practice and when I saw him swing I knew the guy was going to be a star.

ok the place have you ever been interior the previous years. finally somebody consents. not merely does he function an extremely sturdy hitter he's greater usefull interior the sector. not saying Pujols is undesirable. Pujols has gained a gold glove till now each and every thing yet Vlad is swifter and has a lot greater effective arm. in case you have not got faith me check out a number of his video games in Montreal while he threw out a guy tagging from 0.33 and he became approximately 5 ft from the fence and threw a liner to living house to gun the guy out.

(and i'm not just saying that cuz i'm an angel fan ;)
i mean he doesn't act like a superstar even though he's soo talented! i like that about him! and he always gives back.
it's great to see him smile all the time and watch him play baseball :)

Vlad is definitely in the top 5. He remembers who he is while playing our national pastime & hasn't let the money he makes playing a game change who he is.
