It depends on what type of glue. Many glues are just water based and need the air to flash of the moisture and cure. However, there are many chemestries of adhesives that cure by moisture, light, other chemical reactions (like a calalyst or resin & a mix). Now some glues do stick or cure to the inside of a bottle because glass is hydroscopic & lets moisture thru in miute amounts. Many of the "plastic bottles" are made from polyethylene to prevent that.

because of the type of glue..and the material of the container its in..i do wood craft all the time..i buy elmers glue, wood craft sticky glue, and gorilla glue..even if it dries on the outside it will peel of..neither are very good for much outside of wood or paper..thet dont stick to porceline, glass,or even most plastics..strictly wood..thats why they dont stick inside the containers...
