My doctor told me that surgeons won't perform a breast reduction untill the patient is at least 18, but she said she would look to see if one does it at 16. Do you know of any that do it for 16 year olds?

A lot of physicians won't see patients under the age of 18, because they fall in the pediatric category. This includes neurologists, psychologists, cardiologists, oncologists, and more because they need more specific medical care because their hormone aren't the level of an adult's.

If you're 16, even if you're at your adult height, you body isn't done maturing. If you're 16 and need a breast reduction, you might be able to have one, but chances are it will be temporary and will need to be revised further down the road. Also, it's a very big decision and a lot of physicians will be afraid of you changing your mind and coming back to sue them on a decision they "influenced" you made as a patient falling into a pediatric category.

They will probably encourage you to wait until you know your true size, i.e., 18 or older. I know big breasts are a hassle, but it's a big surgery and your chance for redo is pretty high. There are bra stores specializing in minimizer bras and now cater to us chesty chicks (and they're pretty!) with better support, which can tide you over until you're old enough.

Fighting gravity sucks, huh? I want to hit someone when they tell me the joys of jogging.

Your doctor is correct. they will not perform the breast reduction. Because, you still development your breast. You have to wait till you reach 18 or after you complete puberty.

They do but you have to go see them to see if they will take you.

They won't do it unless it is hindering your every day daily activities. You might have to wait at least two years.
