All you need to buy is standard laptop RAM modules. But make sure the laptop has an open slot. As far as Indian market, I would say you should.

if you have a manual with your mother board there they will specify which kind of RAM (presently either DDR ,DDR2) your mother board supports then only thing remaining is size & 1GB is not a problem if only the case is when its your tern stock got over.
you can search in net also using Google search about your mother Board specification
