i owls are so clever why do they sleep outside and eat mice ,i live in a house and eat rats !?

because that is what they have elvolved to do, they actually sleep indoors if they get the chance, if you have a shed/barn that is accessible for them then they prefer to sleep in there.
They don't only eat mice they eat any small animals that they can hunt as they are carnivores

The only reason owls are considered "wise" is because an owl was the symbol of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. Some owls do in fact live inside buildings; my barn houses a barn owl in the summers. Most, however, live outside because that is the most effective way for them to survive. Without humans, there would be no "inside" for them to live in. I also must add that owls evolved before humans, so they certainly wouldn't have been able to live in houses until recently.
P.S. Do you really eat rats???

Depends what sort of owl-I know a tawny with a nice 2 up 2 down semi in Holland park, and a snowy that has moved into a barn and converting it into retirement homes.
