there's tons of life. (literally.)
slime mold.
bacteria.
viruses.
OH, you mean inteliigent, technological life?
that's different.
keep in mind, that our system is 4 billion years old.
our technolical society has been around 50 years.
(that's how old transisters are.)
and, several times, we've been at the brink of blowing ourselves up, for various reasons.
there's no reason to think that every other technological society would not go through that form of insanity.
being generous, let's give ourselves 50 more years to do out selves in.
SO, the odds of somene outside the solar system contacting us is 1:40,000,000.
pretty slim.
the odds of some other SPECIFIC technological society contacting us are slimer, allowing for the 15 billion year span of the universe.
if that's not bad enough, think about how far away stuff is.
it would take the space shuttle 175,000 years to get to Alphi Centuri, the nearest star, just to see if there are any planets there.
(that is one way, mind you.)
no, we're not going visiting, and they're not about to come here.
HOWEVER, if there are folks out there, AND, if they can get here, DO we want them to come visit?
I maintain, probably not.
Life becomes dominant by defeating rival forms.
It works here. It works there too.
If they're able to come visit, it's not unlikely that to a great degree, they've depleated the resources at home.
and earth, despite what we've done, is a pretty nice place.
it would not be unlikely that they'd consider us somewhat similar to a pest species, to be cleaned up, before they move in.
i sort'a like things the way they are, thank you.

There's life here and this is an other planet... and god probably sat back after this one and let the thing coast.... I see a lot of people really scared of EM(Extraterrestrial Medicine) but when you consider what we have in store for them what with twentieth century medicine what it is...as far as EM goes I'd say there must be and we're the only ones we get along with right?

The only extraterrestrial life known is found in meteorites from Mars. And possibly in the atmosphere of Venus. In both cases this would be microscopic bacteria life. No other evidence exists unless one accepts paranormal reports which can not be confirmed and would be accepted on a belief basis only.

do believe life exists on other planets. I feel that life is too resilient to manage to have lost all but once despite such high probability of success.
w/ that said, i don't believe in god (that's right little g). we are not the great creation of a higher power. we are a statical likelihood.

There is nothing in the Bible proving or disproving life on other planets... so if there is life on other planets, God probably thinks it's best we don't know about it.

as over-cliched as Carl Sagan has become, he said 2 things that are very profound: if we are, its an abhorrent waste of space, and we are in a technological childhood and are not ready to hear the complete truth, just pieces that allow us to fill in the holes with what we think is truth to pacify us. My personal opinion.......other lifeforms in the universe are as abundant as flies.

There is probably plenty of life on plenty of planets. But, as with life on earth, no god had anything to do with it.
