When breaker trips there doing there job - breakers are protective devices and trip as a result of a direct short or wiring issue. Id leave it off and have a professional look at it. There is a possiblity that the breaker wont reset because it is bad. Hopefully this is helpful to you.

With any luck just the capacitor has shorted out
or maybe a wire has seperated from the compressor and is shorted to the case
or maybe the contactor has flew the coup. YES leave it off tonight and tomorrow the cost of service will be cheaper. If you are a DIY type of person take a look at the capacitor and see if it looks swolen or leak and look for any wires that may have burned and grounded to cabinet. use the pullout. make sure no power is going to the unit from outside as well as the main breaker panel.

Try turning it off for a while for pressure to equalize.
It may just be that the breakers are blown & need replacing.
