NASA gets about $16 billion a year. As others have pointed out, not all the NASA money is spent on space exploration. Some is for airline safety and efficiency research (the first A in NASA stands for Aeronautics). But most of it is for space flight.
Military space programs are totally separate from NASA and believed to get about twice that much, although the exact amount is classified and not public. This includes things like spy satellites, SDI (often called "star wars"), and GPS. (Global Positioning System, a program developed and paid for by the military and now made available for public use.)

NASA's annual budget this year was about 17 billion - the smallest of any gov't agency. It's not all space exploration - it funds teachers and students as well as public education programs. And all that money is spent right here on Earth, mostly in the US, in our economy. The war costs more than that every single day. And what is that accomplishing?

The part spend on NASA is a bit less than what Americans put on food and medical care for their pets.
Pet food alone is a little over 10 billion per year.
This represents the amount of money needed to feed that part of the human population that has insufficient food.
