If the problem is beyond the control of the average citizen such as "bringing troops home", "high gas price", "illegal aliens" etc then one should be objective about it and look at things from a higher plane. Be aware but do not allow the issues to affect your well being. This is not to say one does not care but issues that do not directly affect the daily live of a person should not get in the way of causing undue stress. Because there will always be problems at every level - political, economic, social. Always. Better focus on how to improve one's condition in life.

Elect people who will do the job and not what the party wants. Too often the Party only benefits part of the country and not all of it. This country cannot survive on one party alone the rest would suffer. I recommend looking at candidates that can balance and compromise to allow all Americans an opportunity to excel not just special groups.

Vote Libertarian. Get back to the Constitution. It worked well for about 130 years.
Do not vote for an incumbent under any circumstances. They are all playing ball in DC in order to get along and make deals for their home turf. We can't stand any more deals or playing ball. Our economy is going sour but the politicians are hitting the golden parachutes. Its criminal.
No one believes, with the exception of one Tom Daschle from SD, that voters are paying attention or that they will get voted out of office. They think that if they couch enough phrases to get us to believe we are being taken care, then we will like them and keep voting for them.
I am not fooled. I will never again vote for an incumbent. I can't afford it.

1. We should write and call and visit our elected officials to make sure they know how we stand on the relevent subjects we are facing today. They are elected to represent us, but they can't read our minds - we have to tell them what we think and how we feel about things.
2. Once they know how we feel, we should hold our elected officials accountable.for taking actions that support our opinions.
3. If they don't do so, then we need to find new leaders who will represent us better.

History repeats itself. Party doesn't matter when both have been hijacked by higher persons. Buy a gun and have fun until they come to try to collect them.

Stop believing everything the media tells you and check the issues out yourself. The media loves to get people all stirred up and it works. We have a new administration coming in and if you really want things to work you have to forget about the present one and work on the next.
