The members of the decorating committee for a school dance have 24 red carnations, 32 white carnations, and 40 pink carnations. They want to form as many identical centerpieces as possible, using all the carnations so that each centerpiece has the same combination of colors as all of the other centerpieces. How many pink carnations will each centerpiece have???

5... 24, 32, 40... reduce...6, 8, 10...reduce...3, 4, 5...voila... 5 pink

the answer is 8 bcuz 8 is the biggest number that goes into 24, 32, and 40 evenly. i guess?

i worked this problem out and came up with 13. but i might be wrong so wait and see what other answers you get. if you get 5 or more of the same answer that answer is probably right.
