The kind with too many people. I just hate a crowded room. It gets hot, stuffy, loud, and uncomfortable. No real quality time to be had there. Can't visit comfortably, no room to sit. I just hate CROWDED parties.
I much prefer smaller intimate gatherings. I'll take quality over quantity anyday!

The kind that centers on alcohol consumption is one; or on making out, or on heavy, sugary food -- Now that you mention it, there aren't many kinds of parties I can enjoy. Mostly I like people who kick back with friends, eat pizza or barbecue, have conversation, tell some jokes, maybe play some chess or backgammon, or maybe Monopoly, if you have the right sort.

A Yahoo polls and surveys party. Can you imagine how dysfunctional that would be. Of Course, I'd be the Main speaker at this event. You're all invited.

any party where there is alcohol, and children and said people drive home with children after drinking.
Also baby and bridal showers, takes so damn long to open the gifts you are there forever.

since I quit drinking, I don't like rowdy parties where people get extremely obnoxious and fight each other. Because I used to be that way. I like going to parties where people can behave like human beings, laughing and having good-hearted fun. Like people who are able to actually drink socially, that does not bother me. :)

Th party's I hate to go to are the one where you are to greet the work place people or snobs.
