Forward mostly Bex but sometimes it is difficult not to look back and sometimes it is necessary to look back to learn by your mistakes. I definitely don't live in the past though, only the present and look forward to the future.

I tend to look forward. When I do glance backwards at mistakes or things I might do differently, I try to see what I can learn from it all. If I allowed myself to linger too long in the negativity or losses of the past, it begins to have a hold on me and pull me down. Since I'm not willing to give up the joy of today, or tomorrow, to wallow in the past, I just try to look back and learn, and get up and move on the best I'm able to. At times it's hard to not look back at those that you've loved and lost, but even there I try to not think so much about what I've lost, but the good times that I've had with those persons, and the happiness they brought to my life. I try every single day to focus on some good thing in my life that I can find appreciation for right now, today....Most of the time this thinking seems to work for me....

I look back to learn from past mistakes, but I look forward to get the most out of life.

Well, I glance back at what and how my life used to be and where I am today and I like to get a glimpse of what my future may have in store for me, but I always look at the present and what I can do today to make myself feel good and be happy. I live for the moment because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come; therefore, I only focus on these 24 hours. That makes my life doable!

Try to look forward, but cannot help looking back at times, even if it does make me sad!

Both.I find comfort in the past and remembering the good times I enjoyed with my parents, gettting married, remembering my children growing up, and thinking how my life has changed over time.I look to the fututre and wonder if my children (adults now) will achieve their dreams, how my grandchildren will grow and what their future will hold. I also appreciate the present for it is here today for me to live. I think of it as creating future memories.Life is too short to hold grudges.I always tell people my memory is too short to hold a grudge.I can't change my past but I can always try to do better in the future.

I would love to say that i only looked forward, but as most of us, especially women, we look back lots.
Especially when our men have been annoying us, i tend to think about "What might have been, if........"

I know it's wrong and we should all be happy with what we have and be grateful that we are healthy!! (But what's the harm, in wishful thinking! Eh?)

Both. I look forward to the future but I also worry about how it will be for my grand children...
As I get older, I tend to look back on how things used to be too.
Not all changes have been for the best.
