Possibly !! But it seems that a more pressing problem is the proliferation of autos on our main streets and thoroughfares.We just have TOO DAMN MANY CARS!! We sink millions into roadways so more people will die and neglect the railroads which have a system in place to reduce traffic by accomodating long haul trucks.

I don't think it has ever been a formal debate, but I know that I have read instances of doctors in clinics sterilizing people who have a few kids and keep coming in for abortions. They feel that if they are irresponsible now, they are basically saving the patient from further trouble.

I have wondered if that would ever come up too. People talk about too many people in the world and global warming, but they never bring that up.

The United States is actually decreasing in population. Its in following with a trend that is affecting most European nations as well. People are having less children, or even no children. And with the current immigration policy its likely that the trend will continue.
