I'm looking to either find a roommate and share a place or my own 1 bedroom. I'd like to be as close to the beach as possible, suburban, nothing to rural at all. I'd like to keep the price $800 or under a month, which I know means I will probably looking at some type of roommate situation, which is fine. I"m looking around for a roommate online but no idea where to start location wise. Not sure where I will be working as of yet, so central to main transportation and lots of jobs....

I would definately move to university town center which is practically La Jolla just east. The great thing about that area is that its near the freeways and the COLLEGE. that means there are always great deals finding an apartment there durring the summer. And finding a roomate there wouold be soo easy just post it at the college and your done! as far as jobs there are so many.. one exit north of La Jolla is Sorrento Valley home of intuit.. motorola.. sony and especially qualcomm! and in la jolla its more of hospitality so hotels everywhere ..specialy high end shops and restaurants..
_ Goodluck!

Hillcrest is a good place......it is very heavily gay FYI (I dont have a prob with that, but its something you might want to know!) Pacific Beach is very fun ("PB") Lots of college kids, lots of parties. Mission Beach is right next door, also fun. La Jolla is WAY expensive. Actually it the second most expensive real estate in the country, next to Manhattan. Honestly if you are college age, I would shoot for PB. Fun area, cheaper than the other beach cities, and I am sure you will find a roommate fairly easily. If you want to stay central to transportation, you may want to try to stay close to the Trolley. That is one of the main ways to get around here. If you can up your budget a smidge you can find a 2 bedroom downtown for about 2k a month. Downtown is very fun, and transportation is easy! I live in Little Italy.....I love it!

Forget Spring Valley; too many bikers and meth labs there. Not safe.

La Jolla is very safe but too expensive for just about everyone except the top 5% of income earners. La Jolla very nice if you can afford it.

Safe areas to be recommended to you would be dependent on what you're able to spend monthly on housing. Tell us what size place you're looking for (bed and bathrooms), whether you plan to rent or own, and your monthly budget for housing, and if you know it, where you'll work, we can give you more specific information. Also, do you want more of a urban, beach town, suburbia, or semi-rural atmosphere...all this would help us to make good recommendations.

I advice which you lease a motor vehicle. in case you prefer to take a excursion of the completed of San Diego, try making use of the trolley additionally. confirm to park your motor vehicle in a secure place! no longer all components in San Diego is offered to bus. you could in all likelihood lease a motor vehicle close to the airport. the section around Harbor has an excellent view. i attempted Mariott hotel. it is going to take you a jiffy from the airport to la jolla. I had stayed in San Diego for 2months. pass to Sea international, San Diego Zoo, The Legoland! you could pass as much as the final American go out. there is an outlet save there in San Isidro. The Oceanside is likewise fantastic. Coronado is likewise an excellent place. you could take the Amtrak going to la, Orange County, Ventura County. this is that in case you have extra time and hate making use of and in basic terms prefer to loosen up.
