and I entered the password to connect to their network and then i had to configure my dns numbers and stuff from their router..i got those entered. but nowwwww i see the packets sending and receiving fast like they should. but then it stops and i disconnect. so i think they're blocking me..is there a way around that on my end or is it something we need to do on their end?

umm..if they werent letting me use it..why would they give me the password and router number?

It could be just a weak signal. They might have a cheap router also. I believe my Linksys router uses mac filtering but I'm not smart enough to know for sure if that would impact someone I gave my access code to. Perhaps Computer Guy could elaborate on that?????

Are you sure they are "letting" you use it?

If you have the encryption code right, that should do it. Ask them if they are doing MAC address filtering.
