Special effects?

Museums: Think of the only interesting things you've seen in museums: They were either diorama or screans you touched (or had program buttons under them so you could "drive" and interact). Expand on this memory.
Theaters: ....I'm at a loss. (The whole thing sounds like a BS question - to be answered with a shovel!) Technology to monitor/control environment in the theater? Lighting and special effects?
Best of luck. (Physics is much more "cut and dried".)

Interactive exhibits with touchscreens etc. Most museums have an online presence these days. Just surf a bit, you'll get plenty of examples. Try the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, Chicago Museum of Art, then there are children's museums, natural history museums, science museums...before long you'll have to narrow your field, there's a lot out there.

Information technology is at work when a theatre director puts together a list of patrons, what shows they saw, how many times they came to performances vs. tickets they held. Anytime they compose a mailing list to send out to potential patrons. Whenever they use information to tailor advertising. Ticket sales use this technology. The lights and sound and security use information technology.

ICT is often used as part of art installations. I suggest googling 'art installations+ICT' and doing your own bloody research.

Lot of art on the web too, try www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk.
