I have encountered a few. You know what though, I am a soldier and I will give my life so these kind of people, twisted as they are, will be able to choose not to support the soldiers in the ARMY. That is the freedom i defend and love. Dont you? btw there are soldiers i have fought along side with who will stop at no end to complete our mission but does not agree with it.

Introductory records will teach you that polls are notoriously deceptive. And Zogby international has been getting alot of interest approximately how all their polls look to internet the right effects that their sponsors want. Does all and sundry rather must be in a try against zone and/or faraway from their acquaintances and kin? what style of effects could you assume?

Not any kind of American I know. I know there are a lot of people out there that don't agree with the war (obviously the first answerer feels this way too) but that does not mean that they shouldn't still support the troops and pray for there safe return home. It is just not right, regardless of how someone feels about the war, to not care about the thousands and thousands of soldiers overseas and their families. Our soldiers are putting their lives on the line for this country and everybody in it, and even for those who don't support them. They are the ones who are away from their families for over a year at a time, miss holidays, children being born, growing up. God bless every soldier out there and his or her family for the sacrifices that they make.
Just to note, the first answer was the only one on here when I started mine, and it was just the first line on there. But, seriously, thumbs down for saying that our troops should be supported? Are there really selfish, unfeeling, heartless people out there that don't care one bit for those men and women overseas? Once again, REGARDLESS of how you feel about the war, support or not support, for the love of God care about our troops. Other people have even said this. I suppose too many people get so wrapped up in the political aspects of this war and the oil and everything else that they forget about the people over there doing what they are being told to do, whether they support it or not.

I think nearly every American supports our troops, but what are we asking our troops to do? What is their mission? to secure Iraqi's WMDs? to overthrow Saddam and regime? to save the Iraqi citizens from a brutal dictator? to bring democracy to Iraq? to police a secretarian war? to stabilize the middle east? In my mind, our troops have completed their mission. Iraq didn't have WMDs after extensive searching, Saddam is gone and his government has been changed.

There is a difference in supporting the troops and supporting the war. In my opinion, people supporting other people is in fact a crucial part of life. It is necessary for the survival of any species. It makes no difference your political agenda, race, gender, or religion. Being in support of a war, however, is an entirely different matter. There are sides to assess and take, hidden motivations to be factored in, and the acceptance to realize that to engage in war ultimately means the loss of lives. The best support for the troops actually lies in not supporting the war itself, in the hopes that it would bring the troops home sooner rather than later.

Some people misidentify me as that kind of American, but that is their spin, not mine.
I think we got into this war on false information. I think the war has been mismanaged. But I do hope our mission, to leave behind a free Iraq, is successful and the sooner the better.
The problem is not with the troops but with the leadership, or lack of leadership, at much higher levels. So, yes, I pray for the wellbeing of our troops and hope that their mission will be accomplished somehow, someday soon.

I completely support our troops, as I was once one, but I don't agree with their mission. The troops have no control over the mission, they go where they're told. That decision is made by the politicians.
So, I can exercise my Constitutional right to disagree with the decision to send the troops into action and simultaneously support the actual troops on the ground.

That's a load of BS. The reason why I want this stupid war to end is BECAUSE I support the troops, because I want them to be safe and out of harm's way. There's no better way to show support for the troops than by getting them the hell out of Iraq and bringing them home to their families. And news flash, the Iraq war is already a failure and always will be no matter what happens from here on out. And don't pretend you speak for all troops, you don't. I saw two soldiers on TV the other day saying exactly what I'm saying now: supporting the troops equals opposing the Iraq war and bringing them home.
